India hold Syria 1-1 in Intercontinental Cup

Already out of contention for the final, India gave their best performance in a 1-1 draw against Syria in the final league match of the Intercontinental Cup. Central defender Narender Gahlot, playing only his second international match, gifted India the lead in the 52nd minute but Syria leveled the score in the 78th minute through Firas Al-Khatib. India had earlier lost 2-4 against Tajikistan and 2-5 against North Korea.
