India's Avani Lekhara wins gold medal in shooting at Tokyo Paralympics

India's Avani Lekhara scripted history by clinching a gold in the women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1 event at the Tokyo Paralympics. Lekhara's total score was 249.6 in the final. She equalled the world record to win the gold. Lekhara's scores in the third, fourth and final rounds were 104.9, 104.8 and 104.1 respectively. This is the fourth medal for India at the event. Lekhara will now take part in the finals of the showpiece event.
