By winning a bronze, Rahul Aware got the greatest medal of his life, while a wounded Deepak Punia won silver after getting out of the final as India honoured its best achievement till date at the World Wrestling Championship. This was India's best-ever medal winnings at the World Wrestling Champion. Bajrang Punia, Ravi Dahiya, and Vinesh Phogat were among the other medal winners at the championship.
