To boost the popularity of Test cricket, several experts have suggested trimming the 5-day format to four days. South Africa played Zimbabwe in a four-day Test in December 2017 and Australia will host Afghanistan in a four-day Test next summer. When asked about the 4-Day format, BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, "first we will have to see the proposal, let it come. It’s too early to say. Can’t comment just like this."
