East Bengal has appointed Mario Rivera as new head coach after Alejandro Menendez stepped down last week. Rivera, who has been a former deputy to Menendez, will be in charge till the end of the season (May 31). Being a UEFA Pro Licence coach, Rivera has served most of his coaching stints in Spain. He is set to join the Kolkata club in the second week of February ahead of the crucial fixture against Aizawl FC.
