South African athlete & Olympic champion Caster Semenya lost her appeal against the debut of new rules regulating testosterone levels for athletes with a difference in sex development. Female athletes will have to reduce their blood testosterone levels to below the stipulated concentration for a period of 6 months before they can compete. The IAAF believes rules are must to preserve fair competition in females category.
