Prithvi Shaw played a spectacular knock, punishing the New Zealand attack, before getting out before the lunch for a well-made 54 off 64 balls during the first day of the second Test. In the process, he made it to an elite list led by Sachin Tendulkar. He became the second youngest (20 years and 112 days) Indian to hit a fifty in a Test in New Zealand. Sachin had achieved the feat at 16 years and 291 days in 1990.
