The Indian women's hockey team kick-started the first tour of their Olympic Year with a confident 4-0 victory over the New Zealand Development squad. However, the first half was quite dull until striker Rani took the leade to fetch India it's first goal. Youngster Sharmila joined in to double the lead. Rani moved one step further to make the lead 3-0. Namita Toppo smashed the fourth goal before the end of the match.
