Sania Mirza’s return to Grand Slam arena after maternity leave ended with early exit as she retired in the middle of her women’s doubles first-round match at Australian Open due to a calf injury. Sania and her Ukrainian partner Nadiia Kichenok were trailing 2-6, 0-1 at that time against the Chinese pair Xinyun Han-Lin Zhu. Sania picked up the injury during practice and she was struggling to move freely on the court.
