Serena Williams is now on the brink of a record-equaling 24th career Grand Slam title after cruising past Elina Svitolina 6-3 6-1 to seal her place in the US Open final. Last year Williams was left in tears after a controversial defeat to Naomi Osaka. She had also lost two Wimbledon finals since her return after giving birth to her first child. Serena will face the winner between Bianca Andreescu and Belinda Bencic.
