Sindhu has advanced to the pre-quarterfinals of the women's singles badminton event after defeating Cheung. Sindhu defeated Cheung 21-9 21-16 in a 35-minute match. She will now face Denmark's world number 12 Mia Blichfeldt, whom she has defeated 4 times in previous meetings.
