The level of umpiring at WC 2019 has been a point of debate since its inception. Awarding of 6 runs on overthrows to England in final has now raised a question on ICC. Former international umpire and member of the committee that presides over cricket’s complex rulebook, Simon Taufel, has claimed that England should have been awarded 5 runs, not 6. It’s a clear mistake. It’s an error of judgment in applying the MCC laws.
