More than 25 state governments may face Rs 1-cr penalty as environment compensation for missing deadline of submission of plan on plastic waste disposal to the Central Pollution Control Board as April 30 deadline set by National Green Tribunal has already passed. The NGT had earlier directed all states except Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, West Bengal and Puducherry to submit action plans to the CPCB by April 30, 2019.
