Researchers found fossilised remains of an ancient bird that had middle toes longer than its lower legs in Myanmar. Palaeontologist Jingmai O’Connor says the leg of a 99-million-year-old bird preserved in amber shows a foot morphology unlike any known previously. The foot was so distinctive that the team declared the bird a new species & named it 'Elektorornis chenguangi.' It's the1st bird species recognized from amber.
