Astronomers discover hidden black hole near Earth

Astronomers from the European Southern Observatory and other institutes have spotted a black hole only 1000 light-years from Earth and it’s closer to our Solar System than any other discovered to date. It forms part of a triple system that you can see with the naked eye. The astronomers found evidence for the invisible object by tracking its two companion stars using the highly advanced MPG/ESO 2.2-metre telescope.
