Ban on Chinese apps against law, says Internet Freedom Foundation Chief

The Internet Freedom Foundation (IFF), an Indian digital liberties organisation which seeks to ensure that technology respects fundamental rights of citizens, on Tuesday, criticised the government’s move to ban 59 Chinese apps including TikTok, ShareIT, UC Browser, Helo and WeChat among others, to safeguard Indian users’ data privacy. The IFF said that the legal order for the ban hadn’t been shared with the public.
