"Cash for Trash" in Turkey: Earth Day 2019

Turkey comes up with a unique idea to promote recycling by offering cash for all the trash being put inside. Officials have placed vending machines at 3 metro stations of Istanbul & metro users can be seen putting plastic bottles & cans into the machines and getting extra credit on their Istanbul card. Istanbul card is a universal ticket for using public transport in the city. This project will increase public awareness.
