Chandrayaan-2 leaves earth's orbit, successfully enters lunar transfer trajectory

Chandrayaan-2 moves closer to the moon as it successfully carried out a crucial process to manoeuvre called Trans Lunar Insertion (TLI) and put in the path of the moon in the wee hours of Wednesday. The spacecraft is functioning normally after the operation, confirm ISRO. The spacecraft's orbit was progressively increased 5 times from July 23 to August 6 and expected to reach the moon's orbit on August 20.
