Colombian scientists have created a mechanical ventilator for COVID-19 patients that cost only $2,000. This is surely a huge success while several crash projects are currently underway across the world to ease the global shortage of the devices. The bedside machine is sized of a small television, made of valves and pressure sensors regulating the amount of oxygen pumped into a patient’s lungs through a plastic tube.
