Major European telecom carriers will share smartphone location data with the European Union to track the spread of the coronavirus in a more sensible way. Vodafone, Deutsche Telekom, Orange and five other telecoms providers had a meeting with EU on Monday and the final agreement was done on Wednesday. However, the commission has assured the location data will be anonymized in order to protect the privacy of users.
