Leading social media giant Facebook has appointed former IAS officer Rajiv Aggarwal as its head of Public Policy. Aggarwal previously served as an Uber executive. He will succeed Ankhi Das. Das stepped down from the post after she was surrounded by controversy for opposing enforcement of hate-speech rules against right-wing leaders in the country. The former IAS will see user safety, data protection and privacy issues.
