France says it will block the development of Facebook's Libra digital currency in Europe as it threatens the 'monetary sovereignty' of governments. French Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire believes Libra poses financial risks and can be open to abuse. But he didn't say how France will keep Libra out of the 28-member EU. Facebook repeatedly said that it would wait until it has regulatory approval before rolling Libra.
