After the small and medium newspapers closed their shops and the big media houses handed over the pink slips to journalists across the world, the tech giant Google alone earned $4.7 billion from its Search and Google News the previous year, which was nearly as much as the entire US news industry made in 2018. As per a report, the news industry in the US made around $5.1 billion from digital advertising.
