Government weighing up Apples's proposal to set up manufacturing unit in India

Earlier, iPhone maker Apple has sought certain concessions for setting up the manufacturing unit in India and now the govt is considering Apple's proposal as govt wants Apple to come in India, said Union Minister Alphons Kannanthanam. Apple asking for concessions, including duty exemption on manufacturing and repair units, service/repair for 15 years and relaxation in the mandated 30% local sourcing of components.
