India rejected US allegations about being a chief source of counterfeit medicines to the world & says its an attack on low-cost generic drugs. The USTR slammed India & China as leading sources of counterfeit medicines distributed globally with 20% of all pharmaceutical products sold in the Indian market. It represents a serious threat to patient's health & safety & inadequate protection for trade secrets in many countries.
