Indian Army gets US made assault rifles for counter-terrorist operations in J&K
The Indian Army has now inducted US-made Sig Sauer assault rifles to its armour to fight against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir. The army has started getting the first batch of 10,000 Sig Sauer assault rifles. An order for 72,400 rifles has been placed by India under fast track procedures to equip its frontline soldiers with more capable guns. The first batch of the rifles has been dispatched to the Northern Command.
