ISRO launches Chandrayaan-2 week after lift-off aborted due to technical snag

Chandrayaan-2 finally lift-off from the second launch pad at the Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota, week after the launch was aborted due to a technical snag on July 15. The Rs 978-crore India’s 2nd moon mission onboard GSLVMkIII-M1 is the first mission in the world that is heading for the south side of the Moon. Chandrayaan -1 also created history by creating as many as 3,400 orbits around Moon.
