NASA Hubble recently shared an image of the nebula Westerhout 5 suffused with bright red light and located 7000 light years away from Earth. The luminous red view includes a free-floating Evaporating Gaseous Globule (frEGG), which is the tadpole-shaped dark region at the upper center-left. A frEGG is a dense, opaque region of gas with a distinct 'head-tail' shape, that astronomers think often hosts the birth of new stars.
