'Need more scientific data': ICMR denies undertaking a study to find if Ganga water is fit for treating COVID-19

Jal Shakti Ministry has forwarded a proposal to undertake clinical studies for the treatment of coronavirus patients with Ganga water. But the ICMR has decided not to go ahead with this proposal saying that it needs more scientific data as the data available at present are not strong enough to initiate the clinical studies. The scientists said there is no proof that Ganga water or sediment had anti-viral properties.
