A semiconductor made of single atom thick layer of organic components -carbon and hydrogen and a two atom thick inorganic layer has been developed by scientists at Australian National University through a process called chemical vapour deposition. The semiconductor is biodegradable, the excellent converter of electricity to light and can be developed into bendable smartphones and other electronic devices.
