Google Assistant can now read your messages from Whatsapp, Telegram, and Slack; and also lets you reply to them. Previously it was restricted to reading SMS texts sent via default messaging app, but now that feature supports 3rd party communication apps such as GroupMe, Discord, Slack, Telegram, WhatsApp, etc. You have to activate Google Assistant on their Android phone & say the command ‘read my messages', to try it out.
