Red carpet crosswalks on trial to avoid pedestrian accidents in UK

Liverpool in UK has the highest rate of adult deaths or serious injuries for pedestrian collisions in the UK, outside of London. To reduce that, the authorities are designing a ‘gold standard’ crosswalks to exploit the insights and help the people to cross the roads safely. The trial crosswalk will be installed at a central accident hotspot on Hanover street/Bold Street and on a high street on the outskirts of the city.
