Scientists develop method to regenerate tooth enamel

Scientists in China’s Zhejiang University have developed a liquid solution which can regenerate the external surface of damaged tooth enamel. They used a material mimicking the natural mineralization process in our teeth's outer layer, the crystalline structure of enamel. The biomineralization process sees cells called ameloblasts secreting proteins that eventually harden into the rigid external coating of our teeth.
