Scientists to figure out how to halve greenhouse gas emissions by 2030

Researchers say that greenhouse gas emissions could be halved in the next decade if a small number of current technologies & behavioral trends are ramped up & adopted more widely. If solar & wind power is scaled up rapidly to replace coal-fired generation; this alone could halve emissions from electricity generation by 2030. Avoiding deforestation & improving land management could reduce emissions by about 9bn tonnes of CO2.
