Study finds- People eat & breathe at least 50,000 micro plastic particles a year

According to the first study to estimate human ingestion of plastic pollution, the average person eats at least 50, 000 particles of microplastic a year & breathes in a similar quantity. However, the actual number might be higher, as only a certain number of foods & drinks were analysed for plastic contamination. The health impacts of ingesting microplastics are not yet known, but they may release toxic compounds.
