Sundar Pichai named CEO of Alphabet as Google co-founders Larry Page, Sergey Brin step down

Google co-founder Larry Page is stepping down as CEO of the search giant's parent company Alphabet. Co-founder Sergey Brin is also stepping down as President and will no longer be involved in the day-to-day operations of Alphabet. Sundar Pichai has been named the CEO of Alphabet. "We are deeply committed to Google and Alphabet for the long term, and we plan to continue talking with Sundar regularly," Page and Brin wrote.
