Telecom companies asks e-commerce sites to stop selling signal boosters

The telecom companies have asked major e-commerce sites like Amazon, Flipkart, Shopclues, Snapdeal, and Rediff.com to stop the sales of mobile signal boosters and repeaters on their platforms as it is illegal and a punishable offense under the Indian Wireless Telegraph Act of 1933. The COAI's letter to them states that the usage of these devices creates interference in the licensed frequency bands allotted to telcos.
