UGC to review PhDs granted in last 10 years

The UGC has launched a review of Ph.D. theses in Indian universities-central, state & private over the last 10 years; amid concerns that doctoral degrees are being granted to candidates whose theses lack originality & quality. The evaluation of theses would indicate the quality aspects proposed by the interested parties. The study will cover the whole country. However, findings may be given at the national as well as state level.
