UK police use facial recognition, face protests from public

When British police used surveillance facial recognition cameras to keep an eye on crowds arriving for a football match in Wales some fans protested covering their faces. In Britain, the use of video surveillance is nothing new. It has one of the highest densities of CCTV cameras in the world fighting threats from the Irish Republican Army and, more recently, domestic terror attacks after September 11, 2001.
