Unmarried girls in Gujarat's Banaskantha cannot use mobile phones: Thakor community diktats

Member of the Thakor community in Banaskantha district of Gujarat has recently issued a diktat where they have banned the use of mobile phones by unmarried girls. The member of the community said that the elder met on 14th July to discuss the issue and then unanimously landed to the conclusion that the use of mobile phones 'corrupt unmarried girls' minds'. Congresswoman Ganiben Thakur has also supported the decision.
