US drives worldwide waste boom that poses a threat to human health, environment & economy

A new study reveals that the US rides global garbage boom posing a huge threat to human health, environment & economy. A combined data of solid, plastic, food & hazardous waste of 194 countries shows that the world produces an average of 2.1 billion tonnes of trash each year. Of which, only 323 million tonnes is recycled while 950 million tonnes gets disposed of unsustainably. The US generates 12% of global municipal solid waste.
