VLC is surely the most popular media players now. It can open every type of video and audio files and it also applicable for any platform. The good news is VLC 3.1 is now available on the Play Store with the main improvement for users being the exceptional Android Auto support. It was first introduced in 2017 but was removed a few months later. However, VLC now shows up as a music app in the Auto interface again.
