Taiwan’s Wistron Corp is planning to open its 2nd iPhone plant, near Bangalore, that will be operational from April. They are going to assemble printed circuit boards (PCBs) for the iPhone in the new plant. At present, it assembles iPhone 6S and 7 series models. The new facility will be able to produce up to 8 million smartphones annually. Last year Foxconn began making iPhone XR models in India, assembling the PCBs locally.
