A report suggests that the world loses an area of forest the size of the UK every year around the world. A vast majority of tropical rainforest is lost, leading to fire effects on climate emergency and wildlife. The report also found the rate of loss has reached 26m hectares a year and is rapidly growing in the past 5 years despite the vow by the government to reverse deforestation and restoration of trees in 2014.
