Delhi-Meerut Expressway is now open for public use, travel time reduced to 50 minutes

The Union ministry of road transport and the highway has opened the 82-km phases 2 and 4 of the Delhi-Meerut Expressway for public use. With the completion of the expressway, the travel time between Delhi and Meerut has been reduced to 50 minutes. For a week from now, users will not be charged for using the expressway. It is India's first 14-lane highway. It also has a 2.5-metre wide cycle track and 2-metre wide footpath.
