This is big news for the people of Rome as for the first time in 300 years the Vatican announced that it would display its holy stairs which are believed to have been walked up by Jesus before his judgment by Pontius Pilate. It is believed that the stairs are having the blood spots of Jesus as he was crucified and those who visit, climb on their knees, kissing the blood spots which are now marked with medieval crosses.
