India's fiscal year 2021 GDP contraction forecast revised to 9.4% by Fitch

India's GDP forecast has been revised to minus 9.4 percent in the current fiscal year by Fitch. The previously projected contraction was 10.5 percent. "We now expect GDP to contract 9.4 percent in the fiscal year to end-March 2021 (plus 1.1 percentage point) followed by plus 11 percent growth and plus 6.3% growth in the following years," the rating agency said. The agency expects world GDP to fall by 3.7% in 2020.
