Afghan MP Anarkali Kaur Honaryar says she couldn't even take a fistful of her country's soil

Afghanistan's first non-Muslim woman MP Anarkali Kaur Honaryar reached India aboard an evacuation flight after the takeover by the Taliban. 36-year-old Honaryar, a dentist and a vocal advocate of equal rights for women, says her dream is now "shattered". "I didn't even get the time to take a fistful of my country's soil... a souvenir from my country. I could just touch the ground at the airport before boarding the flight," she said.
