Centre seeks transfer of petitions challenging CAA from High Courts to Supreme Court

The Central Government moved the Supreme Court on Wednesday, seeking transfer of petitions challenging the constitutional validity of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) pending before different high courts to the apex court. A bench headed by Chief Justice S A Bobde will hear Centre's petition on January 10. The bench comprising justices B R Gavai and Surya Kant said the SC can look into it in case of any conflict.
