Government allows permanent commission to women officers in all 10 streams of Indian Army

In a welcome move, the Indian government has made the way for the permanent commission of women officers in all the 10 streams of the country's army. The Defence Ministry has issued a formal sanction letter to grant permanent commission to women officers in the Indian Army. This comes after the ruling of Supreme Court in which it had given the centre one month's time to ensure permanent commission to women.
